Five Things
After a long week of studying, reading and writing, I need to have something to look forward to this weekend. So here are five things that are currently making me happy and keeping me afloat … so what’s on your top five list this weekend?
Home-Cooked Food
Finally, after three weeks, I can spend a weekend at home. As nice as it is to cook whatever I want during the week, it’s nice sometimes to just go home and not worry about preparing my next meal. Plus, no matter how many new foods I try, nothing beats the comfort and familiarity of my mom’s cooking.
Going home is also awesome this week because:
1. I don’t have work!—which means I don’t have to wait for weekend buses in the cold and dark :D
2. I can watch TV! Lame, I know, but it’s the truth…
3. Kennedy, my baby :)
4. Privacy, with no roommates, which is sometimes necessary for my sanity
Hellcats
Ok, you can judge me all you want, but don’t judge until you’ve watched. This is my new favorite show, perhaps even topping Top Chef: Just Desserts. Sometimes the drama on Desserts is too much for me to handle.
But, Hellcats is just amazing. It’s the cheer-leading, college version of One Tree Hill. Lots of hooking up, complicated histories, chemistry, and cheer-leading. Plus everyone is hot! Why didn’t this concept hit TV screens before??
Above 60 Degree Weather
After two weeks of frigid temperatures, and even moments of freezing rain, temperatures are going to hit above 60 this weekend. Hell Yes :D This means I can actually go for a run? Maybe…
Michael Buble Channel on Pandora
Seriously, I love Pandora. From Michael Buble to Ingrid Michaelson, Pandora is just awesome. And no, I’m not a 40-year-old middle-aged woman. It’s the perfect mix of old-school (aka 50’s) jazz like Frank Sinatra and Etta James. Definitely gets me in the mood for the holidays … only 43 days away!
Afternoon Walks
With the amazing foliage outside right now, I’m reminded of why fall is the perfect season. And with the chilly temperatures in the mornings and nights (after 4 p.m.), afternoons have the perfect combination of cool breeze and sunny warmth. Plus, I can think of baking pumpkin, apple and pecan pies. And roasted sweet potatoes and pumpkins, and…..mmmmmmmm
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend :D
